This custom bar was designed to fit into a hallway, with features of a buffet and dresser. It was built from solid walnut, and a small amount of walnut plywood, stained, with a satin rubbed lacquer finish, and delivered in March 2003. $1,250

 

Construction details.

The overall size of this unit is 66 inches long, 30 inches high, and 18 inches deep.

The top is solid walnut, with a bead and round over edge. The legs are about 1 3/4 inches, tapered to 1 1/4 inches at the bottom. The doors and drawers are rounded with a partial overlap on the front.

Drawers - There are four shallow drawers across the top (about 6 inches high and 16 inches wide), and four additional, larger drawers in the center (about 9 inches high and 16 inches wide). Each is built with a solid walnut front, poplar sides, and plywood bottoms. The drawers glide on hardwood tracks.

Pull out - the left door covers a roll-out shelf for liquor bottles. This shelf is on metal rollers to handle the heavy load of the bottles.

The right door hides a sturdy shelf to support wine bottles, or the shelf could be used for other storage.
